Altec 250
The Altec 250A console. Direct decendent of the famous Western Electric
25B console, this elegant board was a major 1950's redesign of its
legacy. Miniature plug-in preamps, line amps, monitor amps, and power
supplies that could be hot-swapped were used in the new design.
This console helped many existing AM stations make a graceful upgrade
when they went FM. The unit had 9 mixing controls and 18 input channels.
Controls were color-coded for ease of use. It came with a green formica
top, heavy steel legs, and chrome trim.
